Thanks, Mike.

Wow.

The Stars went on to win the game after Modano assisted on the first goal, scored the game tying goal with less than three minutes left and scored in the shootout.

Ka-BOOM.

How about that, Texas! Way to go, y'all. It hasn't been announced that this is Modano's final game, but either way, what an amazing display from the fans, opponents, staff at the American Airlines center, on-ice officials, broadcast team, and Modano himself.

Much more at Puck Daddy and Caps blog, but I didn't want this moment to pass unmentioned.

Thanks, Mike.

Also, if he DOESN'T leave, can this video be "exhibit A" at the pitch to hold next year's Winter Classic in Minnesota, with the Stars and the Wild?

Star Wars and hockey:

So this video is pretty fun if you swing that way:

Of course, the sad reality is The Bruins' Dennis Seidenberg is the real Jedi of the NHL- he's the one who got his hand sliced off. To make matters worse, I was really starting to like this guy, he was one of the Bruins' best defensemen down the stretch, and since he's an unrestricted free agent, he may have played his last game as a Bruin.

Crap.

So, can we get Bitzy back now?

Oof.

Jesus.

What a nutpunch of a hockey game that was.

I guess it makes sense that you just have those games from time-to-time. You throw everything at the goaltender and it just doesn't go. But after 75 games, in which you weren't scoring really at all?

Against a non-playoff team?

That didn't even dress Byron Bitz?

You're killing me, Bruins. You're killing me.

OK, this means you gotta beat Washington.

At least once.
